..::SITE RULES::..
Please read these rules, ''I didn't know it was a rule'' will get you suspended for one week.
Site Lingo OOC - Out of Character IC - In character Admin = Administrator Mod = Moderator
General Rules
- No racial slurs; don't make fun of religion, race or origin. - Sexual talk is banned everywhere in the forum. - Please don't spam. Spamming will get you banned; we will not deal with idiocy and lack of respect for our site. - Please do not use anything but letters in your display name. - Minimal cursing is OK, although extreme profanity only makes the site look immature -- unless it is IC, and only if your character is a "badmouther". - No Power-playing and God-moding. This will be explained in the RPing examples thread. - Some staff will be hold dual positions. In those cases, they will be addressed as their highest rank. - Be polite to staff; they work hard to make the game enjoyable. - Be polite to members and guests; they make up the community and without them, the site wouldn't even exist. - Carry out fights/disagreements in PMs; do not spread it over the Cbox or on a public post. We do not encourage fighting -- just because someone's character hates your character doesn't mean they hate you as a person! Public fighting may result in a week suspension. - Signatures can only be 500 wide x 300 high maximum. Otherwise, it stretches the boards -- and your picture will be deleted without notice. - Attempting to hack into other peoples accounts or to impersonate will result in a permanent ban. - For the use of photography (excluding avatars), you must give credit to the person who took the photograph. Please don't try to fool us; we are capable of tracking down the picture's source. Also, it may very well be illegal to take credit for someone else's work.
Role-Playing Rules
- Please use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. For grammar help, click here. - Posts must be rated PG-13 or lower; we know for a fact that not everyone is 13 years old or older. - A header image while role playing in character is 450 x 50. Only use one image in character during a post, and don't color the font with inappropriate colours. They have to actually be visible, as well as not be eyesmarting. The staff will be the judge of such matters, and if they tell you to change it -- you better do so. - Minimum posting length is 200 words. It isn't that much, dearies! - Please to keep our IC boards neat; do not clutter the role play area with OOC talk. Use the OOC 'members' area' to chat. - While IC, only post in size 1 or 2 for the main text. OOC parts can be any size, as long as it doesn't stretch the pages. - When you post art, please don't stretch the pages. - No swearing in the title of the IC threads. Try not to make them look fancy by adding symbols, either. - Here at Marsia, we would rather you not post than you posting a skimpy, museless, boring post. Quality is always valued above quantity, so if you are stuck on what to write, take a break. Don't force yourself.
Creating a Character
- Try to keep in mind the rarity of the creatures. We don't want more than one albino running around the site at any one time, you know. - Cross-breeding is only allowed amongst selected species -- that is, those proven to be able to produce offspring in real life. Even then, it is very rare, except for perhaps between the Lion and the Tiger. - Fill out the form correctly! We have examples for you, so there is no excuse. - Wait until you are accepted before RPing. You may be penalised if you do not do so. - Special growths are not allowed as of yet. - You may have as many characters as you can keep active. If we notice that you are neglecting certain characters, you will be notified by us to put some up for adoption.
Fighting
- Both male and females may fight. They might not have equal strength, though, as seen in nature. However, this doesn't mean that females are weaker than males! - You may not dodge four times in a row; the max is three times, and after that, you have to take a hit. - Make it interesting. We judge by creativity as well as the strength of the characters! - Only staff judge fights. - All basic rules apply -- proper GSP, proper lengths, no Powerplaying, etc. - Quality over quantity!! - Age and health have effects during a fight. If your character has a huge wound before going into battle, there is a higher chance it will lose than if it had been healthy.
Aging
- Each year your character ages 1 year, that's 8 real life weeks. - Compare the ages of your character against the lifespan guide! - Pups, cubs, and kits are mature at the age of 1 to 2.
Lands and Claiming
- Once the lands are claimed, that's it. You must wait one season before challenging the original claimer for the lands. - When challenges or claims occur, they must be at least 350 words in length, with detailed descriptions of what's going on. - You can only claim one piece of land, no more. If you lose it, you may attempt to reclaim it one season later.
Breeding
- No graphic or detailed breeding. - No force-breeding, either, unless every member of the staff team gives the clearance and both members agree. Even then, unless it is absolutely crucial to the plot, you might still be rejected. - Breeding threads must only consist of the entrances and the exits. The actual acts must not be played out. - If you are subordinate to another individual, make sure you follow that individual's breeding laws. If not, s/he has the right to kill the offspring. - Place your breeding request in the appropriate board. - Wait for the staff to tell you how many pups you will have.
Birthing
- No graphic or detailed birthing. - Females will be in a solitary area. Only the father or another close friend may be around. The female in labour must be alright with it; if not, the intruding character will be evicted from the thread -- both OOC and IC -- and will suffer injuries in the process. - Leaders of social groups may kill the offspring if they feel that their bloodline is threatened. They can also take the offspring for themselves. However, the members must agree OOC. - Females should create dens and birth their litters in them if they wish for a higher chance of survival for the offspring.
